Daily Hours: 8:30 am to 4 pm
Description: Our Shrek Jr. Stage Management Camp introduces students to the organizational and leadership role that keeps a show running smoothly. Campers will learn how to track blocking, take rehearsal notes, manage props, and support performers and directors throughout the rehearsal process. Students will develop communication, responsibility, and problem-solving skills while gaining a real-world look at what it takes to call and coordinate a production.
Performance 1: Friday, July 17th @ 7 pm (Camp ends at 3pm on the day of the first performance)
Performance 2: Saturday, July 18th @ 2 pm
- Please have your camper bring the following: lunch, a water bottle, and two snacks to camp each day.
- Please send your Stage Management student with clothes they can get paint on, and with work gloves, as they may be helping where needed for the set build the second week.
- Stage Management students will be encouraged to attend Creative Team meetings in May and July, and will be asked to have read the script, and listened to the music prior to the start of camp.
- All productions students are asked to wear a black shirt, pants and sneakers for the performances.
- All supplies related to stage management, and building and painting the set are provided.
- We provide high-level instruction for learning the art of Stage Management.
- Students interested in graphic design, learning how the show comes together, and how to cue set changes, lighting and sound cues, would LOVE this camp option!
