Description: Celebrate the charm and simplicity of the Peanuts gang in our You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown Costume Design Camp. This camp focuses on clean lines, color symbolism, and character consistency to reflect the show’s classic, Peanuts comic strip-inspired style. Students will study how costumes support character personality and storytelling through thoughtful design choices. Young designers will develop design concepts, create sketches, and build costume pieces or accessories that capture the heart and humor of this beloved musical. Emphasis will be placed on collaboration, creativity, and attention to detail.
This camp is ideal for students interested in costume design, visual storytelling, or theatrical production and offers a welcoming introduction to behind-the-scenes theater work.
Campers will explore:
- Character analysis and costume symbolism
- Design sketching and planning
- Color theory and visual consistency
- Fabric selection and basic construction
- Creative collaboration and problem-solving
Performance Times:
- Performance 1: Friday, August 7th at 7:00 pm
- Performance 2: Saturday, August 8th at 2:00 pm
- Performance 3: Saturday, August 8th at 7:00 pm
- Costume Design students will work closely with Molly and her special guest to design and sew costumes for You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown!
- Costume design students need to bring a water bottle, lunch, and comfortable clothes to sew in.
- Please send your camper in clothing that can get stained, as we will be working with fabric dye.
- All sewing supplies, and a camp t-shirt will be provided for each camper!
- Students interested in fashion design, sewing, dying, cutting, and creating will LOVE this camp!
- Costume design students are encouraged to come see the show and all their hard work brought to life!
